TO THE GORGE comes out tomorrow! I truly can’t believe this day is almost here. It felt like forever away and now it’s smacking me in the face.

TO THE GORGE is a book about my 460-mile run across the Oregon PCT to celebrate my inspiring mom. It uses stories from my run, alongside stories about my mother’s life and death, to explore the complicated experience of grief - and what shines through it. It’s a story born from loss, but it’s a lot about how to live.

And it’s out TOMORROW.

My brain is a little too hyped up on pub week chaos to string many words together, but I want to share some book deals and book happenings and book stories with you, so you’re in the To the Gorge loop and know where to find me and this book in the next few weeks.

TO THE GORGE GOES ON TOUR

To the Gorge is also going on tour so we can talk about everything that’s in this book! I had my first book event in Eugene last weekend and it was beyond incredible. You can listen to a recording of the Ali on the Run Live Show through any podcast feed if you want to hear our conversation. It was fun and emotional and an absolute dream of a book launch. (Also, my brother executed a months-long con to surprise me and it was amazing.)

Next up: Powell’s Books in Portland at 7pm tonight.

Snoqualmie Running on Thursday, May 9th at 6pm.

And Dudley’s Bookshop in Bend next Thursday, May 16th. (And Durango next month!)

SHARING TO THE GORGE STORIES

To the Gorge is full of stories that are meant to be discussed and shared and chatted about - and I’m thrilled that I’ve been able to do that with a bunch of different podcasts, radio stations, and media outlets. The Live Show with Ali on the Run was the best start to these conversations and I’m excited to share more as they unfold.

Making space for other’s vulnerability and having open conversations about grief is so much of what this book is about and I love that we did that on his show).
